God Orchestrated Trip

Janice Ha, SINGAPORE

This year, we had 2 Young Adult teams signing up for 2 weeks Mission! Team 1 was in CNL-Philippines from 7 to 14 July and Team 2 was there from 14 to 21 July.

TEAM 1

The Team was assigned to CNL-Ormoc for the most part of their 1-week stay. Because CNL-Ormoc is the newest outstation work, they do not have Sunday worship services yet. Instead, they conducted Saturday children’s church and weekday cell groups and Bible study.

Ormoc Children Church - Children’s Church in action!

Everyday from 6am, the team did morning prayer walks, house visitation, evangelism & prayer and children’s programme in various villages. It was a fully-packed itinerary. Everyone did their part well and blessed many people by their friendliness. Some of the villagers asked if the team were ‘enciks’ (chinese) and when Ps Sarah and Lotchelle (our CNL-Ormoc pioneers) said ‘yes’, they were so surprised. They said that the team was so kind to them which was nothing like the local chinese folk! Praise God for helping to build bridges.

House visitation

There was also an evangelistic film show. Teamwork was so evident, everything went really smoothly and well. The team managed to gather in quite alot of new believers and contacts for follow-up!

Ps Sarah and Lotchelle had a good time with team 1. They not only helped to open more doors for ministry, they encourage the cell group members, brought in new contacts and cheered the whole church up!

Team 2 - From left: Lay Hua, Mei Fong, Jimmy, Terence, Elizabeth & Janice (not in picture: Say Ann)

TEAM 2

The Team was divided into 2 groups – Ps Terence and Jimmy were sent to CNL-Calbayog whereas the rest of the team were stationed in CNL-Tacloban. Team 2 was put through the same programme as Team 1 – cell group meetings, house visitation, evangelism & prayer and children’s programme in various villages. The house visitation was a good experience for both the staff and the team. They encouraged one another to be bold in sharing the Gospel using the wordless book. God rewarded by convicting many people’s hearts and they gladly accepted the invitation to salvation, cell group meeting and Bible study.

Mini-Crusade – Love of God

They also helped conduct a mini-crusade. Everyone was only expecting 50 people to come, but God chose to bless over and above by sending 150! Out of these 150, 50 were children and about 30 were church members. This meant that there were 70 new faces. When the altar call was given, there were about 45 people who responded to the call for salvation. Indeed, the power to change was there and many were touched.

CNL Calbayog - BK Meeting

It was amazing how God in His wisdom, chose and formed the young adult teams according to the needs of the people in CNL-Ormoc, CNL-Calbayog and CNL-Tacloban. All 3 outstation works had very specific and unique needs which no one in Singapore had any idea what they were. Both teams just ‘fell-into-place’ and then fit in like a jigsaw puzzle when they arrived – it was indeed, God-orchestrated!
