Year End Growth in Smar
Dennis & Daisy, Philippines
We praise God for the 3 new works that were started in Samar at the last quarter of this year. Thank you for standing with us in prayer and support and more importantly, in believing with us. We would like you to rejoice with us as we share Ps Oscar’s update of the works in Samar.
Santo Niño Church
We have started making disciples on this island. We have more than 10 people in attendance in the discipleship classes on Salvation and Christian life. Regular Sunday Worship attendance is between 10 to 20 people. Two disciples lead worship songs and also lead Bible Studies. We hope to form a group of believers in every barangay (village) in these small islands. Our next target is to start a cell group in the main town of Santo Niño. Santo Niño island is accessible by motorboat. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to get there from the mainland.
Migara Church
Migara Church is located in a remote area off Calbayog City near the mountainous interior. We are now preparing to conduct a Discipleship Program for the believers. Many of them cannot read nor write and only a few have gone to Elementary or Secondary School. Ps Evangelina is now teaching a Literacy Class weekly. We hope to start a livelihood program and to establish a Christian School. Presently, we are looking for sponsors who will help to pay for the children’s school fees.
After giving follow-up and discipleship training to the believers for a month or so, some of them are now able to conduct worship services regularly and make disciples themselves. The attendance is around 20 to 30 people excluding children.
Trinidad Church
One family has been added to the congregation last month. Discipleship classes are conducted for the believers and most of them are women. This is because the men are busy with work. Regular Sunday Worship attendance is between 10 to 20 people.
Calbayog Church
We celebrated our Church Anniversary last Sunday September 25. Members from Migara, Trinidad, and Santo Niño all came and participated with the main celebrations. Everyone enjoyed the fellowship and games. Attendance was around 170 people including visitors.
Pastor Oscar and Family
Dave, Ps Oscar’s eldest son will be graduating in Electrical Engineering. Dinah Fe, his second daughter, won a College Scholarship in Civil Engineering. Deary Ann, the youngest, will complete her Secondary School education soon.
