Turning Converts to True Disciples
Greetings from the roof of the world! This nation has gone through much political and economic uncertainty within the last 3 months. Although there is now a new coalition government, it remains shaky as the parties lock horns over ministerial posts. The nation needs your prayers.
In our church planting works, most continue to experience growth. People are turning to Christ as the Gospel is actively shared in the villages. Water baptisms are taking place on a regular basis and pastors are now turning to our centre for help in discipleship development. They realize that they are largely making converts instead of disciples. Please pray for our centre that in responding to this real cry of needs we would help and empower them to put in place a working and effective disciple-making process to turn converts into true disciples of Christ.
The building of our new missions centre has been progressing well according to schedule. This is largely due to the planned visit of Janice, our missions director. As I was praying and preparing for her coming, God assured me that her stay with us would be timely and her contribution would be significant. In her conscientious effort, she has helped the contractor adhere to the time schedule, reworked construction costs and kept it within a reasonable budget in spite of rising fuel and material costs. Indeed Janice is God-sent for such a timely project. We are both grateful to God and her.
“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All power in heaven and on earth is given to me. So go and make disciples of all people in the world. Baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey everything that I have taught you.”
Thank you for your partnership in empowering us to obey and carry out the Great Commission. Pray that we will stay true and diligent to the Lord’s command to make not just converts but disciples for His Kingdom.
