Thanksgiving

J&C, South Asia

It was nice to hear from the home church during the missions teleconference on 23 October this year. I was really caught off guard when Francis asked about the security situation here. I just realized that with our growing ministry, I had not paid much attention to the situation of late. Honestly, I do not care much about the political development these days as our expanding ministry has taken precedence in our lives.

As 2005 draws to a close, we would like you to rejoice with us and give thanks to the Lord for His blessings and help in the progress we are making for His Kingdom’s work here.

Orphanage –

This year 11 children were added to our home. With the addition of 2 new boys (see picture below) last month, we now have a total of 19 children (5 girls and 14 boys). We also thank the Lord for the success in registering our home officially as a local Non-Government Organization (NGO).

19 GLOWING FACES - We now have 5 girls and 14 boys

Pray with us as OHF (Singapore) will be buying land and building a permanent abode for the orphanage in 2006. Ask the Lord to send good workers to help C care for the children and run the home.

Church-Planting Training -

We have successfully conducted the 6th and 7th training course this year. 4 trainees from the 6th batch started new works upon returning to their respective villages. There are a few potential candidates from the 7th batch and we are praying to start 3 to 4 new works next year from this group.

Due to the high demand for our training, we have taken the step of faith to increase our intake to 16 trainees (from 12 per batch) next year. Agree with us that the Lord will supply our need of trainees with God’s calling for His Kingdom work, quality trainers and to meet our finances for the training program.

LEMON CHURCH

This work was started in April this year after our trainee (6th batch) returned to his village. It’s slowly growing as people are coming. The worker decided to build a temporary building (sitting capacity – 100 pax) on his own land.

SUNFLOWER CHURCH

This work is situated in the West and is growing and promising. We have bought a 20,000 sqft piece of land for the church sometime in 2002. Now that the government has constructed a road right in front of it, the land has increased in value. The members are pooling their resources to build the building.

Leadership Harvest Centre Vision 200/20 –

To establish 200 vibrant churches in 20 years in regions where there is no church.

Goal 200/2 –

To have 200 believers in 2 years for each church planted.

This year we saw 8 churches planted in different regions of the nation. This brings a total of 22 works that came out of our training centre. The 8 new churches are -

  • Daisy in the Central region
  • Rambutan in the East region
  • Nectar in the Central region
  • Nectarine in the Central region
  • Lemon in the mid-West region
  • Marigold in the West region
  • Sunflower in the mid-West region
  • Mulberry in the Central region
  • 5 pieces of land were purchased this year. They were bought for the following churches -
    • Nectarine (April)
    • Daisy (May)
    • Fulberi (June)
    • Marigold (September)
    • Tulip (November)

To date we have acquired 9 pieces of land for 9 churches. From 2006, we are targeting to buy 2 pieces of land annually to establish the growing works in the village. Pray with us.

In summary, we are thankful to the Lord for the 11 children who joined our home, the 8 new churches that were started and 5 pieces of land that were bought for the church. We truly praise Him for all that He has done in our ministry this year. Glory to God in the Highest! We have decided on a home trip in December and so we look forward to celebrate Christmas with you, CNL, our home church. See you soon!

“Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen”
