Steadfast in the Storm

I consider my life worth nothing to me if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me.

(Acts 20:24)

Being a pastor is beyond comparison. As we care for the church we learn how to cover our sorrow with a smile, stay vigorous despite all the tasks we endure, give hope even though ours is unclear and unseen, give strength even when we are weak. No one knows the challenges we face until and unless they themselves join the ministry.

I know and believe that serving God is a privilege not a burden. We face challenges beyond measure because the more pain we overcome, the stronger we become. I face lots of challenges, trials, problems, so many times I was disappointed, so many times I was discouraged, but what makes me hold on? It’s because of Jesus. It’s all about Jesus, that’s why I’m still here.

I serve the Most High God, not man. Man fails but God never fails, He is faithful to fulfil His promises. Life will continue whatever happens, all we need is to be bold and courageous in the face of all the challenges we encounter. Faith in God is still the best armour. Faith doesn’t mean trusting God to stop the storm but to walk through the storm knowing that in the midst of it, we experience more of His love and power. God works in ways we cannot see.

Prayer sustains me in times of hopelessness. Whenever I feel down and am tempted to quit or give up, the only key to make me strong and comforted is to seek God within my heart. Prevailing prayer is praying until we get the answer. God places us in extreme circumstances so that we can pray through and obtain power with God. Similarly, I encourage you to not stop praying because so many people need your prayers. God desires to meet us in prayer so that we can know and be filled with more of Him. We believe there is power in prayer and it works.

Youth Conference 2009
ALL TO GOD - Youth Conference worship in session

We conducted a 4-day stay-in Youth Conference from 14-17 April for 90 youth and leaders for all our outstation churches. Ps Francis Chen from CNL (Singapore) led a mission team of 9 young adults to empower our youth for greater effectiveness in life and ministry. Many young people were baptized by the Holy Spirit and for the first time they spoke in tongues.

God did many other wonderful things in their lives and they are now involved in church ministry. Thank you for your prayer and financial support to make the youth conference so successful in bringing lasting impact and changes to the youth. Praise God and may He bless you all richly in return.
