The political situation here has deteriorated. The rebels declared strikes in many districts outside the city. They would use tree trunks or stone boulders to block the roads, which are often booby-trapped with bombs. The rebels also set ambushes on army soldiers sent to clear the blockade. In the last incident, 24 soldiers were killed.
STOPPED – A road blockage with bombs
Our 6th church planting training course started on 17th January. It took 2 of our trainees 7 days to reach our training centre. It used to be only a day’s travel. We thank the Lord they reached us eventually and safely.
We must work “as long as it is day; night is coming, when no man can work” (John 9:4). Here we instill all our outstation works to seize every opportunity. The Gospel is preached at every wedding, every funeral and every open-air meeting. We will keep training and sending out church planters to start and establish new works before the rebels take over the villages. Join hands with us to pray and reach this nation for Christ. Jesus is the ONLY answer for this world.

Prayer Pointers
- Church Planting Works – PLEASE PRAY for these works daily. Remember especially our pastors and believers in the remote areas where rebel influence and threats are strong.
- Harvest Centre – Pray for the 13 trainees in our 6th training course. Pray also that new church planting works would result from this batch of training.
- Vision 200/20 – To establish 200 vibrant churches in 20 years in the Himalayan regions where there is no church.
- Goal 200/2 – To have 200 believers in 2 years for each church planted. In line with the vision and goal, pray that at least 10 new works would take root this year. Pray for our follow up support in helping each church to meet its Goal 200/2. The programmes include quarterly gathering of our pastors for re-training, on site Bible teaching for new believers and implementing 4 evangelistic outreaches annually in each church, etc.
- Himalayan Hope Orphanage – With the Lord’s help and leading, we intend to enlarge our home to include girls this year. Please ask for the Lord’s favor that our home will be successfully registered as a local NGO. Pray for good house parents, helpers and coworkers to work with C for the home.
- Special Visitor – Remember Ps Steven Teo as he ministers in our training centre, the AG Regional Conference and Pastors and Leaders’ Conference from Feb 11 to 21.
- Pastors Conference Mar 21 – 23 – This is the first quarter gathering for all our outstation workers. Pray that this meeting will take place and not be hindered by any political upheavals. That our gathering will be a time of refreshing and strengthening of His Spirit.
