Pressing On

The recent change of government has once again brought the nation to a standstill. The frequent strikes and roadblocks in the south are causing acute shortage of fuel and other essential necessities in the capital. Everyday, opposition parties stage traffic obstructions from 10am to 12pm in the city.

Living under such dire and uncertain circumstances for the past few years has made us very conscious of God and His grace daily. Without fail, God has been faithful to meet our every need (at times) at the eleventh hour. Surely the tougher the situation, the greater His grace made available for us! We have also learnt to do with less and to make use of the best situation before us. Every new circumstance is a learning potential for growth. It is so true that when we have Christ we lack nothing.

Thank God for our new WTJ Missions Centre! It is continually being put to good use. We successfully conducted our 13th church planting training from February to May and commissioned 18 graduands on May 10. This was followed by an upgrade training from May 31 to June 10 for our outstation pastors from the Central regions. It was a time of respite and refreshment for them and they are thankful to the Lord for the timely provision of such a good facility for ministry time out and retraining.

WORSHIP AT WTJ MISSIONS CENTRE - We held an upgrade training for our outstation pastors from the Central region on May 31 to June 10.

From July to October we will be running our 14th church planting training course. Prior to that, we will be providing an upgrade training from June 21 to July 2 for our outstation pastors from the Western regions. To cut down traveling time and expense for the pastors, we hope to conduct the training in a location near them. Please pray with us because the current political unrest may upset our plans to bring the retraining course to them.

COMMISSIONED - 18 graduands from our 13th batch of trainees receiving their certificate on May 10.

Our children home saw the addition of 4 new children in April. Dor and Dhana, 12 and 10 are orphans who come from the East. Their parents died of ill health. Tabita, 5 is from the West. Her mother died after giving birth to her and her father does odd jobs to earn a meager living. Raj, 6 is from a remote area in the North East. After his mother died, his father remarried and his new wife refused to accept Raj. He went to live with his aunt who already has 4 children herself. Raj was brought to our home after his aunt could no longer provide for him. We thank God that all 4 children are happy and settling down. We now have 33 children – 21 boys and 12 girls.

CHILDREN HOME’S NEWBIES - From left: Raj (6), Tabita (5), Dor (12) and Dhana (10) are all smiles as they settle down with the rest in their new home. We now have 33 adorable and very active children!

As we experience the richness of God’s presence and grace living here, we would like to share this prayer of blessing with you and your family:

God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always have all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

(2 Corinthians 9:8)

THANK YOU for your support in enabling us to serve the Lord in abundance with much joy and gladness!
