Obedience & Grace

Philippines
This is a precious moment for New Life Missionary Training School. I thank God for His faithfulness in guiding and providing for the whole year of training for Batch 1 students. Thank you for your time spent interceding for us.
God spoke to me to start this school 7 years ago (in 1997). Looking at my own capabilities and financial status then, I was afraid to begin this pursuit. My perspective was completely changed in the year 2003. Daisy and I finally cast away our worries and obeyed Him and started pioneering the missionary training school even though we were in deficit. A valuable lesson we learnt was that Grace comes after Obedience – after we act on Gods leading, things will begin to roll and move. One by one, every obstacle was miraculously removed by Him. The school was formed. God opened doors for us. He sent pastors from several churches in Singapore, Australia and Malaysia to come and teach in our school at their own expense. (Thank you to our precious teachers who are reading this!)
The fruits from our obedience and perseverance are 7 disciples being trained and sent back to their churches as leaders and pastors. From the students testimonies, we learnt that God enabled them to prophesy with accuracy, cast out demons and heal the sick. During the graduation, you could see the sparkle in their eyes and I know God is going to move mightily through their ministry in their own hometown. All glory to God!
This is possible because we have an Almighty God who created us and gave each of us a mission. Grace comes after Obedience. I believe God has a mission for you, too. Let us obey and act on His Word and whatever obstacles that are in our way will be removed for He is faithful and able to do so. (John 14:12-14)
During the month of May, we were blessed to have 2 teams from Singapore visit us. Daniel Huang led the first team of students from different churches and Rev. Lawrence Seow led the second team of working professionals.
The student team (Daniel, Jonathan, Isaac, Gordan, Peter) came and ministered together with the bible school students. It was amazing to see the team praying with the students and evangelising the village hand in hand. They also ministered to street children. The children were all spiritually nourished and at the same time had plenty of fun and games.
Rev. Seow's team comprised of Bro. Long and Bro. Wilson. We held crusades in Ormoc city for 2 days and more than 150 souls were saved. On the first day, there were about 70 or more who attended the meeting and by the 2nd night, the whole place was packed and even the chairs were not enough for the crowd!
The team also ministered in the prison and preached through the local radio network station. Rev. Seow also spoke at our Graduation service for Batch 1 students. Many pastors from different islands attended and prayed for the graduates after the service.
The visiting teams were an uplift to the church and we trust that God will send more teams to visit and support the work here in the Eastern Visayas of the Philippines.
