No Let Up in His Kingdom

J & C
SOUTH ASIA

Citing the government as insincere, the rebels pulled out from the peace talks last month. Security checks were stepped up in the whole nation. This made my visits to our works out of the city both tedious and restrictive. Usually it would only take a 5-hour journey to visit CNL-Nr. My last trip took me the whole day. On the way back nearing the city, I encountered a long jam of vehicles at about 1.30pm. I decided to disembark and climb my way up the hill to the checkpoint. It took me an hour to reach but only five minutes to clear the security check. If I had stayed on the bus, I would have got home in the evening that day. Fighting between the army and rebels has resumed in the village outskirts. Casualties are reported on both sides everyday. Please do not fail to pray for the nation and the people!

The Lord willing, CNL-Nr will very likely branch out a new work in November. This work will target largely on a huge unreached “untouchable” community in a new area; about five hours journey away from the church. The Lord willing again, CNL-Bg will start to build a new building twice as big as the current one at the end of this year. The work has been growing steadily and the Lord has brought the funds in just in time for a new piece of land and a new building. His Name be praise indeed!

Our third batch of students of Harvest Mission Centre completed their church planting training course at the end of September. There were 10 students altogether consisting of 3 ladies and 7 men. During the two-month in house training, at least four demon-possessed cases were brought to us. So the students had hands-on training in power encounters and experienced first hand Gods mighty power! Now they have great testimonies to tell when each returns to his or her village.

Some time ago we had a pleasant surprise visit from a graduate of our 2nd training course. After he graduated, he started witnessing in his own village through the Bible story telling method that he learnt in our training course. He told us people have responded to the Bible stories and a handful of families have even turned to Christ! He came to invite us to visit his village (see activity scheduled Dec 1-7), which requires 3 days walk after we get down from the bus. My spirit is both excited and willing! But to be honest, my flesh feels weak at the same time. Pray for me, I know I must go! Even in such dire state and situation, there must be no let up in the work of God. His Kingdom must advance!
