Praise the Lord and rejoice with us for the marvelous accomplishments of the Lord in the first of half of this year for the work here.
New Works
3 new works are added, which brings our total number of churches to 45. These new works are situated in the remote villages of the Mid-West. They are Rose, Guava and Nangka churches and are the daughter works of Sultana Church, one of our fastest growing works. Since 2005, Sultana Church has been self-supporting with over 200 members.
New Land
To facilitate the growth potential for the works, new land have been acquired for the following churches – Durian (14,600 sqft), Magnolia (11,000 sqft) and Blackberry (7,300 sqft). Out of our 45 works, we have acquired land for 16 of them. In addition, a 30,000 sqft land was purchased on 6 March 07 for our New Life Leadership Missions Centre.
New Buildings
Land was acquired for Tulip, Daisy and Nectarine churches last year and they have since built and completed their own buildings this year, as targeted. Nectar and Buttercup churches will complete their buildings by early and end June 07 respectively.
New Boy
On 27 April 07, a new 5-year old boy joined our children’s home. Pasang comes from a very poor and remote mountainous village in the Central Region. When he was one year old, his mother fell from a cliff while cutting trees for firewood. Her body was found only after 2 days of search. Pasang’s father works for others as a herder bringing animals to graze in the jungle and is usually away from home for months. Pasang tags along with his father in the jungle on such trips. He has three other siblings and they are being looked after by other relatives. Now that Pasang is of school age his father thinks that it is in Pasang’s best interest that he gives him to our home. The little boy currently speaks only his own dialect but he is slowly learning to communicate with the other children. Pasang is adjusting well in our new home.
