PHILIPPINES

CNL – Philippines is now known as New Life Christian Mission Philippines, Inc. The Security and Exchange Commission had rejected our initial application as ‘CENTRE OF NEW LIFE’ as there are already many churches having names related to ‘New Life’ or with the word ‘Centre’.

Your prayers had helped us to be successfully registered without much problems. The board of trustees of NLCM are Ps Jasmin (CNL-Ormoc), Ps Jacinta (CNL-Tacloban), Ps Oscar (CNL-Calbayog), Ps Daisy and myself. I thank God for these dedicated co-workers

Currently, we are preparing to build a church cum school cum orphanage in San Miguel. Pray that we will meet honest architects & builders who will charge us reasonably and for people who are willing to give financially to this building project.

Presently we are helping a boy to continue his studies — Claro Seville. He is 18 years old and is studying for his 3rd year in High School. He studies in the day and rides the trishaw for his meals during the weekends. He earns about P150 (S$5.50) a week which is hardly enough for anything. He was so skinny and dark when we met him. Daisy and myself decided to take him into the church and to help him in what-ever way we can. He has been staying with us for a few months now and we see his seriousness in studying and love for God. Below is a testimony written by him. My desire is that God will speak to someone to help him in any way, great or small. Do you know of anyone who is willing to pledge S$2 or S$5 a month for his food and school fees? Please pray with us.

My name is Claro Sevilla Jr. and I would like to share my testimony with you. When I was about 3 years old, my mother died. Not long after, my father left us. My younger sister and I grew up in another family. But at the the age of 12, my foster family sent me away.

I lived with my friends and cycle a pedicab (tricycle) to earn some money for my food and studies. I was able to get by during my first year in high school. But when I was in second year, at the age of 14, I got into trouble. I was involved with vice and my life was a total mess. By the time I found Jesus, I had already stopped studying for 3 years. God helped me recover from my hopeless situation through Ps Dennis & Daisy. Now I am worshipping in CNL-Tacloban and am living in the church. I return what I can by helping Ps Dennis and studying hard. Jesus is faithful – I owe Him my life.

‘The LORD upholds all who fall and raises up all who are bowed down.’ (Psalm 145:14)
