More Hands To Plow

Dennis & Daisy,
PHILIPPINES

Last month, God sent Christians from Malaysia to help us in our work. A team of 4, made up of a dentist, a businessman and 2 pastors, came and ministered hand-in-hand with us. Through them, God opened the door for us to minister to the street children. The children were so blessed by their ministry that they are still talking about them after they left.

GOSPEL SOUND
Dr Lim preaching on air in the radio-station

We also brought the team to the radio station where Dr. Lim (the dentist) preached the good news through the local radio-station and invited all listeners to join our open-air crusade in the evening. That night about 200 people came despite of the drizzling rain. Many gave their lives to Jesus and a handful of them experienced instant healing. The villagers asked us to come back again as they felt the crusade was too short. God is moving in this village. We are seeking God for guidance on how to nurture these villagers.

ALL EARS
NLMTS students in class

Thank you for your prayers and intercession for CNL-Philippines and our one-year-old Missionary Training School. Finally, the students are ready to be released into the harvest field. 23 May 04 was their graduation. There are about 20 or more students keen to enroll in the second batch of our training. By faith we are increasing the intake. Currently the students are using cardboard boxes as shelves and the floor as their beds. Pray with us for God’s provision to buy materials to make tables, shelves and mattresses for the students as well as a monthly contribution to provide food. God had moved powerfully in our first batch of students and we believe God will move even greater than before. So, join us in hearing the heartbeat of God and putting our hands together on the plow for His glory.

We have compiled some of our students’ testimony and would like to share them with you. May you be blessed by the students’ touched lives.

A CLASS THAT CARES
Dennis Sisican

New Life Missionary Training School emphasizes the importance of a cell group. As a student body, we call ours 'Care Group' and meet once a week. The purpose of forming a Care Group is firstly, to build up good relationships with one another through sharing and praying together.

At first, many of us were shy and had difficulty working together during our first meeting. But as time went by, our relationship improved. We received care, comfort and encouragement from each other. When one is down, the others would be around to help him up.

The Group also creates a favorable environment for all of us to learn from each other after our classroom lessons. We discuss about the lessons we learned, talk about ways to improve our preaching skills and how to prepare sermons.

The NLMTS Care Group is a place that refreshes and strengthens me.

A LIFE OF WORSHIP
Jacinta Liston

Praise and Worship is indispensable in New Life Missionary Training School. All of us must be in class by 6:30am to wait upon God. If anyone is late for more then 10 minutes, he is to stay back in class to fast and pray for the student body while the rest have their lunch. Punctuality is very important because discipline is necessary for us as soldiers of Jesus Christ.

We prepare ourselves for learning by worshipping. This moment allows us to be refreshed by the Holy Spirit where many of us are frequently touched by God daily.

Every day there are 3 sessions of Praise and Worship. Once at 6:30am, another at 9:00am and the third at 12:00pm. All of us are required to learn to lead Praise and Worship in NLMTS; even if one is tone deaf or cannot sing well, we do it for God.

After each day's lessons, we would pray and intercede for the nations of the world. We believe that as we pray, God will move in power.

LIFE-CHANGING WORD
Lorgina Valeza

I thank God for the Curriculum! It had impacted my life. I learned a great deal from the anointed preachers and teachers. I can only say, “It is fantastic!” There is anointing even when we watch it from the video. I never get bored with watching and listening through this programme.

The subject, “Supernatural Living” gave me courage. It activated my faith and made me exercise whatever I had learnt. It is so different. Many times, I had to step out of my comfort zone in order to experience what I learnt in the video. This course not only increased my knowledge, my spirit-man was strengthened, too.

Having gone through the course, my prayer is to become a teacher and preacher for God’s glory and honor. May God’s will be done. I pray that New Life Missionary Training School will continue to mobilize Christians to win the whole world for Jesus Christ!

Pray With Us!

  • God’s provision for tables, shelves, mattresses and food.
  • The second batch of trainees.
  • A vehicle (twin-cab lorry) to travel around Eastern Visayas as we minister to our daughter churches.
  • Good health for all of us.
