Church Planting – Samar Island

“I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

John 14:12-14

I realise that God is using this year to stretch our faith as well as all my co-pastors in the Philippines. After we planted Borongan Church in April this year, God increased the pace of our work. Another 3 new churches were started in less than 5 months! Trinidad, Migara and Santo Nino Churches are now added to our existing 6 works, making it 9 in total. Trinidad Church has about 10 members worshipping together every Sunday. Migara Church is situated at the foot of a mountain in a remote area of Samar with more than 30 members worshipping faithfully there. Santo Nino Church is situated on an island with 15 members attending weekly Sunday services. Migara Church and Santo Nino Church are planted by teams raised by Ps Oscar of Calbayog Church.

We are also seeking God’s guidance and confirmation to plant another new work in Catbalongan by the end of this year.

MIGARA CHURCH - This is one of our latest work in a remote village in Samar. It is situated at the foot of a mountain and has become a small lighthouse in the community. The people are mostly villagers with a deep hunger for God’s word. The man in the picture is Ps Oscar who is the pastor-in-charge of Calbayog Church.

Church Planting – Leyte Island

From our 1st batch of students from the missionary training school, we now have Ps Lorgina assisting me in overseeing this training ministry. She has been of great help to the present 3rd batch of students. Ps Jacinta and Ps Jasmin have exchanged portfolios – the former is now sent to Ormoc Church and the latter is now back serving in Tacloban Church. Our leaders in Tacloban Church are concentrating their outreach to students from the nearby high schools and colleges. We believe that by raising a new generation of leaders, we will change the spiritual atmosphere of this place. The 3rd batch of missionary school students are seeking God for guidance in starting new works in San Miguel and Tanuan.

MIGARA CHURCH MEMBERS - The church is constructed out of bamboo with cogon leaves for the roof. Every week, more than 30 people meet here for Sunday services. Many are happy to be able to worship God freely here. It is a privilege for us to be able to plant a church were there is no church, so that the people do not continue to live in darkness.
