Off To A Good 2007 Start
The New Year started with 4 new churches being planted in villages in the mid-Western region where there is no known church. These 4 church planters are graduates from our 9th training course – the latest one. They started the new works upon returning to their villages. The names of these new churces are (39) Redbean, (40) Narcissus, (41) Potato and (42) Pomelo. They are located at such remote villages that we have yet to visit the pastors and to see them for ourselves. We plan to make a trip to these 4 village churches soon. Do pray for all our pastors who are in the frontline engaging in spiritual warfare daily for the salvation of souls. Praise the Lord that we are making progress and advancing His Kingdom in this country.
Land acquisitions and church building projects are also making good headway. The church building for Sunflower Church has been completed. An inauguration service for the new building is now being planned by the pastor. Durian and Nectarine Churches are in the final stage of completion of their buildings. Tulip and Nectar Churches will soon embark on building their church. Construction and completion of building projects are indeed a whole church affair! There are also plans to acquire 3 pieces of land for 3 growing works this year – Blueberry, Buttercup and Raspberry Churches.
Our 10th batch of church planting course commenced in January 2007. From 42 applicants, we selected 17, comprising 2 couples, 11 men and 4 ladies. They come from remote villages all over the country. For the next 3 months please keep the training, the trainees and trainers in prayer. Do ask the Lord to raise up good and passionate church planters from this training course. Remember the harvest fields are plentiful but the laborers are few – send more workers.
HOPE TRUST ORPHANAGE
The orphanage ended on a high note in 2006. A few loving and generous friends organized a party for the children on Christmas Day. We had games, newspaper fashion contest and many thrilling activities for the kids. The highlight of the event was when the children received their personal gift stockings. Every face lit up with joy as they peered into their gift stockings full of goodies. What a joyous sight to behold! Indeed the Word of God is true: it is more blessed to give than to receive.
Please continue to keep this country in prayer. Pray for strong unity among the government leaders to maintain the current peace. Ask for sincere cooperation to work towards progress. Pray for us, too that God will preserve and enlarge our ministry in the days to come for His glory!
We wish the Lord’s rich blessings upon you and your family in the Chinese New Year and the days that follow.
