Church Planting Works in Leyte

God is doing an incredible work in Tacloban Church. Many young people have dedicated themselves to God and they in turn are committing to be involved in the ministry every week. Thank God also for open doors to start a young working adults’ discipleship group. As we were praying for the best way to initiate this ministry, God arranged for it to happen miraculously – the employer of a company requested us to conduct discipleship program for her staff.

In October, we celebrated Ormoc Church Anniversary. Many people came and 3 new families have since joined the church. Currently, we are visiting all the households in the community. We make it a point to visit every house so as to share the gospel. We believe God wants to transform this city through Ormoc church.

TANAUAN CHURCH
Ps Ricardo is targeting 2 villages for outreach

In October, we also saw members from Tanauan Church being water baptised together with members from Tacloban Church. It was a lovely celebrative event. In addition, we thank God for providing a proper rental place for Tanauan’s Sunday services. Outreach is ongoing and we are focusing on 2 villages – Lapay and Abang.

Every Saturday, close to 40 children attend San Miguel Church’s children ministry. We have started Bible study classes for 2 families, young people and young teens. Next month, as we start new Bible study groups, we are praying that the friendly village captain will also invite us to conduct Bible study for him and his household.

SAN MIGUEL CHURCH - With the support of the village captain, children’s ministry and Bible study groups are very well received in this area

Church Planting Works in Samar

Last month we conducted an “Encounter God” retreat in Catarman Church and everyone had a great and meaningful time in developing our spiritual lives. As a result of this retreat, more people have signed up for Bible study groups. Leaders and members are also reaching out to the other villages and the work is growing steadily with people getting saved and committing their lives to Jesus.

CATARMAN CHURCH
Ps Lucresio wants to see more lives being transformed through Christ

BORONGAN CHURCH
Ps Samuel is working forwards starting more Bible study groups

Due to growing demand, we have started more Bible study groups in Borongan Church and the response is encouraging. Outreach to a nearby village have also yielded good results – we managed to start a new care group there. Membership is growing and special programs for children, adults, youth as well as discipleship training for members are in place with regular attendees.

Calbayog Church has lately started a prayer group for the family. It is a very effective platform for members to come seek God and to pray for one another. Our works are also growing slowly but steadily with one new house fellowship added. We are constantly praying and reaching out to the neighboring villages.

God is indeed moving in different ways in all the different works in Leyte and Samar. Yet in the diversity, there is a unified desire to see Christ transforming lives through Bible study, care groups and prayer. Together with open doors come challenges in ministry for with each initial receptive heart stands a deeper spiritual issue to be addressed – commitment to Christ at all costs. There remains plenty of work to be done and we are very grateful to you – our supporters and faithful friends in prayer and giving.

May the Prince of Peace grant you His power, promise and most of all, His presence as you celebrate this holiday season!
