God is in Control

Dennis & Daisy, Philippines

Four years ago, I received a call from my brother saying that my father passed away. I was shaken and sad for not having a chance to see him for the last time. I prayed and asked God that this will not happen for my mother. This year, we planned to return to Singapore to celebrate my mother’s birthday in March. Half way during our ministry, I picked up a call from my brother. My mother had passed away. Again, I was caught unprepared and was in shock. Suddenly, a very gentle voice came to my mind, “It is alright, I am in control. You may not understand why, but I am in control.” I then read Jeremiah 29:11-13.

I thank God for His love. I know that God is good and in control all the time. Thank you very much for your prayers and concern during our time of bereavement.

Valentine’s Day Outreach was a success. More than 50 youths attended the meeting. Most of them are young people from the Alpha Courses that we are conducting at the moment. Ps Jasmin (Ormoc Church) shared on ‘The Mark of Genuine Love’. At the end of the service many came forward to recommit themselves to God and to rebuild their relationship with their parents. God healed many broken hearts that night.

Ps Richard Tng also visited us. He brought a fervent and enthusiastic team from Grace Christian Church (Australia). The team conducted a 2-day Youth Service cum Music workshop. Youths rom another church (TCC) joined us in this meeting. The team also ministered in our New Life Missionary Training School, did visitations, reached out to street children and ministerd to the leaders and members in Ormoc. One of the team members, Dr. Sarah even conducted simple medical examinations for the children and the sick. We thank God for their visit and help.
