Blessed for God's Purpose

No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind can conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him

(1 Cor 2:9)

I really believe God has a purpose for our lives. Everything we do has significance. God wants to work through our hands, speak through our voices and love through our hearts. He will bless us and make us a blessing to others as we seek to glorify Him in all that we are and in all that we do.

#13 SERVANTES CHURCH

Barangay Servantes is situated in the south of the municipality of Catarman, Northern Samar, about 20km away from the town proper and has a population of approximately 3,000 people. Last year a bible study was started in this place in the house of sis. Liby due to the request of her sister Helen, who is an active member of our church in Catarman.

#13 SERVANTES CHURCH - From a bible study group of 10 meeting in a member’s house, they will soon worship openly in a larger premise in their own village.

At their first bible study, about 10 people attended and they accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour. After a few months of bible study, they conducted water baptism for the group. At that time, there was no worship centre there and every Sunday, this group of believers travel to Catarman Church for Sunday Worship services. As members in Servantes began to increase, they started to pray that a worship centre be constructed in their village vicinity.

In October this year, their prayers and desire were answered by God! Under the leadership of Ps Luc, members started pooling resources together and began constructing their own church building and today, it is almost 75% completed.

Indeed, we owe this to all who have contributed to this work both financially and physically. We pray that God will continue to bless the work in Servantes for the completion of their church building and the provision of amenities such as chairs and musical instruments. Most importantly, for more people to be added into the Kingdom daily.

We give thanks to God for His bountiful blessings and also to our brothers and sisters in the Lord for their endless support.

#14 APITONG CHURCH

God has put a strong passion in the heart of Bro. Libe to reach out to the indigenous families living at the foot of a mountain in Barangay Apitong, which is 20min away from Tacloban City. Bro. Libe started to make friends by building close relationships with families that are receptive to him and his team. They visited them regularly by going from house to house and today they have started Children’s Church and Bible Study in the village.

#14 APITONG CHURCH - With the help of a local charity organisation, we started a 3-month feeding programme for malnourished families. Thank God for this abandoned Nipa hut that we are now using for our weekly Sunday Worship Services as well as a meeting point for community works.

On October 19, they started their first Sunday Worship Service in an abandoned Nipa hut! This is their first significant promise of greater things to come that God has given to them in this place. Please keep them in your prayers that Apitong Church will continue to grow, that God will give them more strength, wisdom and resources to help needy families spiritually, emotionally and materially.

It is through this new work that we see a greater sense of ownership and participation of Tacloban Church members. More leaders are willing to sacrifice for God by paying for their own transportation fare to Apitong Church. Some even rode their bicycles and tricycles to transport chairs, guitar and a small pulpit to this new work. I see how God is moving upon the lives of the people and how He is transforming everyone through this exciting work. All glory to God!

#03 ORMOC CHURCH

On October 12, we celebrated Ormoc Church’s 7th anniversary. As people came to celebrate God’s goodness and faithfulness, many experienced the love of God – how precious they are in His sight. Many believers received breakthrough and restoration.

#03 ORMOC CHURCH - Members have a renewed passion to grow and we are moving to a bigger place in December.

By December, they are moving their Sunday Worship venue to a bigger place. Do continue to pray for a smooth transition as well as greater harvest of souls in this place.

Thank you for your support and all your prayers. Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!
