7 Boys and 7 Churches
J & C
SOUTH ASIA
By the grace of God, we have embarked on 3 new works in October 2003. The first is a daughter church of CNL-Berry. At present, there are 80 believers with some recent baptisms. Despite being located within a rebel-controlled area, the villagers are turning to the Lord by the families! The other 2 new works are started by graduates of our two-month training course at Harvest Mission Centre.
All these 3 new churches are planted in remote, rebel-controlled regions where there are no churches. It takes between 2 hours to 1 day’s walk to reach them from the nearest road. Please keep our workers and believers in your prayers. The Lord willing, CNL-Mango may also branch out a new work before this year ends.
To date, we have planted 7 churches. 4 of them have their own land purchased with external funds. 2 have built their own building and another 2 are in the progress of construction. The believers themselves, within each church, raised their own funds to construct the building. Praise the Lord indeed for moving hearts to give to His work!
Our orphanage has also grown with two additional boys who came in in October. Both belong to the Tamang people group near the border. Their families perished in landslides during the last monsoon rains. We have given the boys new names to start their new life with us Jonathan and David. They only speak their ethnic language which none in the house understands. However they are both learning English fast. We now have a total of 7 boys in the home. Thank you for your concern and gifts.
We covet your prayers!
PRAYER REQUESTS
- Security Situation - Pray for a breakthrough in the current political impasse. No one is certain where the nation is heading except sliding downwards.
- CNL Works - Pray that the Lord would preserve the works and His people and may each work be a centre of hope and salvation for the surrounding villages.
- Harvest Mission Centre - Our 4th training course in Feb & Mar 04. We have received more than 10 applications that require short listing. It's always hard to turn down trainees.
- Orphanage - Pray for love and acceptance between the old and new boys. Pray for C and Sarah, the house mother, as they impart lives caring and teaching the boys.
- Visitor #1 - Ps Stanley's visit (Jan 04). Ps Stanley would be speaking in a 3-day pastoral conference, visiting and ministering in CNL works. Pray for a time of both encouragement and challenge!
- Visitor #2 - Bro Steven Teos visit (Feb 04). Bro Steven would be speaking in a 2-day regional conference, visiting CNL works and ministering to the trainees in Harvest Mission Centre. Pray for a deep work of the Holy Spirit on His people!
