It is a privilege to be where we are and to do what you and I are doing (Rom 5:2). When we follow God in missions/ministry, we’re not “helping” God or anyone else for that matter – not even those whom we seek to reach out to or serve. This is because this posture places the one who renders help before and above the one who is being helped, which runs contrary to God’s love command to esteem each other better than ourselves (Phil 2:3). We are all undeserving kids given a privileged invitation to join in with what God is already doing in and around us.
