The key evidence of our love for God is our love for people. We can love people without knowing or loving God, but we can’t love God without loving people (1 John 4:20-21). This quarter’s field updates attests to this fact – from Ps Buddhi of South Asia to Ps Ricardo of the Philippines to Ps J in East Asia. In addition to pastoring and discipling their congregations, each of them have taken decisive steps in bringing tangible social impact and inroads into the non-Christian community in which they are a part of. Channeling drinking water from a faraway source into the village, providing viable jobs for tomorrow’s young working adults, building houses for typhoon survivors and extending their homes to needy strangers, they are blessing beyond borders by walking the talk of inconvenient, self-giving, faith-stretching love to people outside of the church. The Good News does not belong within our Christian walls alone, but extends far beyond into the world, to everyone in their everyday circumstances and environment.
