Grace Alone

For safety & security reasons, RP’s return to the mission field is put on hold for the time being. Please keep her in prayer during this time of change.

Grace alone
Grace alone

Grace was there when a young lady who was a total stranger to me on a crowded bus moved her hand up a pole and signaled to me to hold on to that part of the pole that she has created space for me.

Grace was there when a young lady who was a total stranger to me on a bus helped me to remove a strand of hair from my winter jacket.

Grace was there when a shop keeper gave me a lollipop without knowing that I did not bring my wallet, had only enough money in my pocket to buy eggs, and was talking to God in my heart how great it would be if I had a lollipop to eat then.

Grace was there when I questioned God where was Grace and then a taxi driver who was a Christian, drove me to my destination and insisted on giving me a free ride just because I am a Christian and he wanted to do something for God.

Grace was there even when I could not see God, hear Him or even feel Him.

And the Grace who was with me then is also here with me now.

This Grace is the one who helps me to draw closer to God and experience sweetness and joy and gratitude in my heart.

This Grace is the one who helps me to see that there is hope in life and love in an imperfect world.

This Grace is the one who helps me not fear that I will walk out of the will and calling of God.

This Grace is the one who helps me to come to a decision to take time to love myself and take care of my own health and stop serving in the field for the time being.

And indeed Grace looks like a holy angel, feels like summer even in winter, tastes like a lollipop in my mouth, smells like the flowers after the rain, and sounds like:

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
