The Earth Is The Lord's
Rev Stanley Ow, Missions Pastor
We believe in mobilising the entire Body of Christ for missions and ministry. We believe that every Christian who has a mature and fresh walk with the Lord will have their unique spiritual gifts to contribute to the work of the Harvest.
All that we have belongs to God! The Bible says that dust that we came, and dust we will return.’ Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:10, “But by the grace of God, I am what I am, and His grace to me was not without effect. No, I work harder than all of them – yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.”
Let us put on our best effort in whatever we are doing for Him. It is all His grace. I remember when the gracious Lord allowed me to plant a bi-lingual church in Sapporo, Japan, I dedicated the church and her theme with Christ's words, “I will build MY CHURCH and the gates of hell will not overcome His Church” (Matthew 16:18). I was conscious of His assistance, His providence, His care and His love as we served Him as a family of 4. We were under tremendous level of stress. In early 1999, we lost our third child. Yet a few months later, Stefanie came along. We were not bitter against the Giver, but we remained thankful and faithful to the cost and call.
There is always a temptation to claim the labour of our works as our own. Afterall, “I did the bringing; I did the follow-up; I did the counseling; I did the visitations, etc. They are my children; my house; my ministry and my ‘pride’. We forget the Giver. When we are willing to return the works from Him by emptying and surrendering of ourselves, He will return us with more and beyond. God tests our hearts. God turned Moses’ shepherd rod into God’s rod that parted the Red Sea; God multiplied the fishes and bread to feed more than 5,000 with a balance of 12 baskets. God can use our yielded lives for His purposes. Be faithful to what the Master has entrusted us. Join us in prayer as we seek Him for more missions funds to come (see below).
I shall leave you with this verse, “In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble.” (2 Timothy 2:20). Let us be vessels of gold and silver for noble purposes. To Him be the Glory!
