Certain in Uncertainty

In every business there is always a business plan that spells out the mission, vision, market, goals, timeline, value proposition, milestones, financial projections, etc. If a company doesn’t have a business plan, it will falter and fail. Same way, we need a Life Plan that spells out the same things. How do we reach a destination when we have no inkling of where we’re going? Or to trace our footsteps if we lose our way?

How to start writing a LIFE PLAN? Let’s learn from Paul. In Rom 10:1 he says,

Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved.

What is YOUR longing and prayer to God? Write it down in no more than one hundred words. Start off with: “The longing of my heart and prayer to God is…”

Keep it simple but not simplistic. With so many things going wrong in our world, Henri Nouwen reminds us NOT to be the ones who withdraw from the world to save our own souls, but the ones who enter into the center of the world and pray to God from there. What is the longing of your heart and prayer to God? What is your Life Plan?

Let me assure you that whatever you write today will definitely change. But it doesn’t matter. What matters is that you start to think along with God! No one is too young or too old to dream. As long as you have breath, you get to live for the glory of your Father in this world. Think creatively. Think compassionately.

Share your Life Plan when it’s done. I guarantee it will give you the clarity and conviction you need in order to be certain in uncertainty and resilient in Life.

At the end of the day,

God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. (1 Cor 1:9)
